One of the Upper Highway’s most-loved festive traditions is rolling into Westown Square — and it’s bringing lights, laughter, and a whole lot of holiday magic with it.
On 16 December, the Harley-Davidson Club of South Africa (Durban Chapter) will make Westown Square their final stop on their annual Santa Ride — a tradition that’s been spreading festive cheer for almost a decade. And this year, we’re thrilled to be part of the route.
A Tradition of Joy on Two Wheels
Every year, riders from the Durban Chapter transform their iconic Harleys into dazzling festive machines: wrapped in tinsel, covered in lights, and piloted by Santa-suited riders who bring Christmas spirit to every corner of the Upper Highway.
What started as a small ride from Westville to Umhlanga has evolved over the years — now celebrating the communities closest to home. Families line the streets, kids wave with excitement, and the riders bring a little festive fun (and a lot of noise!) to every stop.

Westown Square: The Final Stop
From 19h30 to 20h30, around 20 festively decorated Harleys will park off around The Square, turning our open-air space into a glowing, photo-worthy wonderland.
Kids can meet the riders, families can snap photos with the bikes, and everyone can soak up the holiday energy only a Harley convoy can bring. With bikes on display, music in the air, and the spirit of the season everywhere, it’s the perfect addition to our festive lineup.

A Community Celebration
The Harley-Davidson Durban Chapter — the originating chapter of the Harley-Davidson Club of South Africa, established in 1967 — is proudly based right on Westown’s doorstep. Their Santa Ride is all about community connection, shared joy, and celebrating the season in a uniquely spirited way.
We’re honoured to welcome them this year and to bring this vibrant community event right into the heart of Westown Square.
